THE KVB INSTITUTE
The Institute was founded in 1978 by Karl Horst von Busse. A designer himself,
his objective has always been to train creative individuals for employment
through industry based, hand on skills and an appreciation of International
design trends. In today’s educational environment, most school leavers are able
to attend a University program with average or even low ATAR results.

However, it is also a fact that many students drop out or have difficulties finding
employment after graduation.

They either did not research their career well enough or did not acquire sufficient
industry based skills for the workforce. In many cases, they are also not “JOB READY”,
a major requirement in the workforce.
The KvB Institute is offering school leavers a number of programs designed to ensure
their suitability for a Fashion career, give them industry based manual skills and an
appreciation of international trends prior to entering a Degree program.

THE PROGRAMS
Our programs have been designed for school leavers who have an interest in a career
in Fashion and are interested in a professional foundation program prior to entering
a University program.
The ideal candidates have completed their HSC and are planning to to study for a
number of years.

OPTIONS:
A 12 WEEK FASHION DESIGN COURSE – Sydney or Paris delivery
to give a student a sound understanding of the Fashion Industry. It covers most
basic skills and details about the Australian Fashion Industry. Students will also
complete a professional portfolio, a must for University entrance and later Job interviews.
A 1 YEAR FASHION DESIGN COURSE WITH A 4 WEEK EUROPEAN STUDY TOUR
This program gives students a more comprehensive workload and includes a 4 week
study tour to Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt and Venice.
A 2 WEEK VISIT TO THE BERLIN FASHION WEEK IN JANUARY OR JULY
This program will give students a first hand experience about European Fashion Trends.
The Berlin Fashion Week, exclusive for Industry attendance, is suitable for anyone
interested in a Fashion career, either prior, during or after university attendance.
